Sunday, 8. July 07 ::Redstart::

This year again we had some sweet little birds nesting in our open garage. It was something special, since we never had redstarts nesting close to our house. These birds are just so pretty and it is so nice seeing them around so often, looking out for food for their little ones. Unfortunately a cat stole one of the little ones. Somehow my sister could get it back. Now its the last one sitting in the nest because it did not recover as quickly as we hoped it would.

Here are the promised pictures of my brother and the furious, crazy raven which I took some days ago:

He followed my bro wherever he went. (nice friend ;))

when I saw this picture at first, I had to laugh quite a lot! It looks like he is afraid of the woman and her dog. But he is actually running to provoke the raven to attac him again, so that I could take some nice shots.

Thats the exact place, where he attacked me! He seems to be doing it with anybody, who is jogging past this bush.

The last days were like hell, and the very last night did not even exist for me...I worked non-stop...
I could never have made it on my own...and above all, God is the one who made it possible, that I could carry on.
Praised be God, who is soo good to all of us!

I had no time to check my mails, now I am on my way to Switzerland, I'll be back on Sunday.

Monday, 4. June 07 ::Raven Alert! Update (3)::

My big bro came home today, telling me that he had been attacked by the ravens. AGAIN! 6 times. So war continues on the battlefield behind my house. Actually I should not be reporting on this, since I have more "serious" stuff to write about. What a shame,...I have to write and am not allowed to chase ravens. (More updates coming soon...probably) ;)

Saturday, 1. June 07 ::Raven Alert! (2)::

Actually I did not plan writing about that stupid raven once again. But now that crazy animal seems to be getting more aggressive. My brother was attacked by him 3 times which upset him quite a bit. He decided to take revenge. So my little bother and I decided to join him again, equipped with a softair and some sticks. (Ok, that might sound a bit childish but we had fun, anyways). The raven seemed to be following my big bro wherever he went, even up to our house. So after shooting and hitting him 2 times with softair bullets (we knew that he would not suffer a great deal, he did not even move a bit, just crowed some times) , my brother decided to go home, because the raven did not approach again. When he left, the raven followed him suddenly as well.
We used the occasion to take some pictures in the cornfield. My big bro came back again (we were still in the field), telling us that the raven had attacked him again (all in all 5 times!). Once he nearly managed to hit him, but the raven could escape. Well, I am looking forward to what might happen next time. My mom thought about calling a forest ranger, but secretly I am looking forward to some more funny stories with him...
Well, one positive aspect of the story: we took some funny pictures which I will be posting soon. (as soon as I get that intimidating masters thesis behind my back)
The best news of the day: my dad got a new camera Canon EOS 400D !!!, with 2 lenses!!!!!

A Poem for Mom

Dorothy and I wrote a poem for Mothers day. I never wrote a poem with a friend via Email... but it was quite fun I must admit...and since she posted it already, I can do that as well I guess. So here we go. I am open for any suggestions you might have on how to improve it.

A poem for our dear mother
to tell her how much we love her.
She has helped us through so many times,
even though we caused some little crimes.

Your love and care we feel and see,
(even though you won’t agree),
is worth more than any treasure I could find -
nothing more precious comes to my mind.

Your example I can see every day,
God’s will you search in every way.
Inspired by your life I cannot but say:
"I wish to be just like you one day."

There’s so much to thank you for,
that there will be space no more.
